This particular posie pocket was very much, a labor of love.  One night while I was sitting in my studio, waiting for inpiration to come to me----out of the blue, it hit me.  An elegant wise owl dressed in her finest, perched on a branch, glimmering in the moonlight.

This lovely owl is entirely hanstitched upon a very old piece of grey flannel fabric.  She is made of different shades of taupe and grey wool.  Her eyes are mother of pearl buttons and she wears a necklace made from an old peark earring.  Vintage lace finishes off the top border and a small branch from outside is stitched to the bottom for her to rest on.  Velvet leaves and vintage buttons add to the whimsy.  The handle is a combination of vintage seam binding, pearls, wool felted beads and the most glorious speckled blue vintage beads.  The pocket measures approximately 16-1/2"h(including the handle) x 7"w at its widest point.

Very elegant owl, indeed!
