I have to say, that this Posie Pocket turned out a bit long.  I do not use any pattern for my pockets.  I usually start a pocket with a little inspiration and I begin by pulling fabrics from my stash.  I piece them together in a pleasing way, using Miss Bessy Pearl or with a little handstitching.  By the time I finished this one, I looked at it and thought to myself---What can this Posie Pocket be used for, besides looking pretty on a door handle or hook?  Well, while I was contemplating this little thought, I looked down at my scissors on the table and inserted them into the pocket----great fit!  Then, I proceeded to search around the rest of my studio.  I found my knitting needles---perfecto!  I found my vintage chenille stems----wonderful holder for them, and it holds quite a few!  And they look pretty peeking out from the top!  I'm sure there are many ingenious ideas out there for this long Posie Pocket---with a quick stroll around your house, many an idea will pop up!

I used many of my favorite fabrics, vintage and new for the front and back of this pocket.  Old lace and trims were added along with pretty buttons.  It measures  about 4"w x 9"h and the handle is made frome strips of fabric and lace sewn together.
